Our story
A different way of teaching STEAM.
DTS-RI was founded on a simple, urgent belief: every student should see themselves in the story of innovation. We honor and amplify the significant contributions of African Americans in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.
Our educational model blends narrative-based instruction with project-based learning—designed to spark curiosity and foster deeper understanding. Lessons adapt to diverse grade levels, learning styles, and language needs so that every learner can participate meaningfully.
By merging art and science, imagination and analysis, we help students see the interconnections of knowledge—that video games can be poetry, cooking is math, and sports are science.
